Home Rotary Thanks to the generous financial support from individual Rotarians, the Education for Peace (EFP) Program was initiated in two secondary schools in the strategic city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina in February 2003: Mostar Gymnasium and Joze Martinović Secondary Economic School. Since then, these school communities have graduated from the 2-year EFP Intensive Program and are continuing to implement the EFP Curriculum within their schools. Together they have organized many joint activities, including the first-ever joint peace event, which brought together students from both sides of the ethnically divided city of Mostar. Rotary International has also supported the EFP Program through sponsoring Rotary Peace Scholars as interns with Education for Peace Institute of the Balkans (EFP-Balkans). To date, three Rotary Peace Scholars have completed the Rotary Peace Scholar Program’s obligatory internship with EFP-Balkans. In addition, one EFP-Balkans staff member and an individual who previously completed the EFP Internship Program have been accepted to the Rotary Peace Scholar MA Program. EFP-International has also received donations from individual Rotary members that have aided in the support of EFP activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina such as regional peace events and other inter-school activities held in different regions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. « Return to Cooperation & Support
