OF THE EDUCATION FOR PEACE PROGRAM IN 100 SECONDARY SCHOOLS ACROSS BOSNIA
AND HERZEGOVINA

On 5-7 September 2003, a two-day Intensive Training Seminar in Education
for Peace was held at the Saraj Hotel in Sarajevo to launch the start
of the Education for Peace Program in 100 secondary schools across Bosnia
and Herzegovina (BiH). The participating schools are from 60 different
locations, representing every Canton within the Federation of BiH, the
Brcko District and all regions within the Republika Srpska.

AGENCY GRANTS 2 MILLION SWISS FRANCS FOR CREATION OF ON-LINE EDUCATION
FOR PEACE PROGRAM FOR BOSNIAN HIGHSCHOOLS
10 November 2002 (Bern) - EFP-World,
an IT -integrated version of the Education for Peace (EFP) curriculum
is currently being developed for introduction to 100 secondary schools
in Bosnia and Herzegovina, through a grant of €1.35 million from
the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and a €2
million grant from a private foundation in Canada.
- JAPANESE GOVERNMENT GRANTS
€45,000 FOR "CREATING A CULTURE OF HEALING"
22 October 2002 - (Sarajevo)
Representatives at the Japanese Embassy in Sarajevo have signed a final
contract between the Japanese Government and the International Education
for Peace Institute, an affiliate non-profit agency of Landegg International
University. As an important step in the evolution of the EFP project,
this contract will provide over 45,000 Euros for the support of a three-day
training on "Creating a Culture of Healing", being held in
Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina.

ABOUT EDUCATION FOR PEACE IN BOSNIA ENDS SUCCESSFULLY

The international conference of 15-16 May, co-sponsored by Landegg International
University and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC),
has ended successfully, with support and enthusiasm expressed by all
for expansion of the university’s Education for Peace program
in Bosnia.

10 May 2002 - (New York) The
Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued a statement on Landegg’s
Education for Peace program to all 400 heads of state and heads of delegations
to the United Nations Special Session on Children, held in New York
on 8-10 May 2002.

EVENT OPENED

Hosted at the headquarters of the Office of High Representative in Banja
Luka, a press conference was held to announce the opening of the First
National Peace Event of the EFP Project. Attendees included Mr. Stevo
Pašalic, the new Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of
Srpska.

JOINTLY PROCLAIMED BY MAYORS OF SARAJEVO, TRAVNIK AND BANJA LUKA

Mayors and Deputy Mayors of Sarajevo, Travnik, Banja Luka and Ilidza
Municipalities officially proclaimed February 2001 as 'Peace Month'
today at the headquarters of the OHR in Sarajevo.
