Stacey Makortoff

Academic Program Coordinator , EFP-International

Sanna HeikkinenStacey Makortoff, MA, is the academic program coordinator for EFP-International in Vancouver and has completed her MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from the European University Centre for Peace Studies in Austria. Her thesis, entitled, Why the Path to Peace is Often Paved in Conflict: A Historical Examination of the Doukhobors of British Columbia, integrated the Education for Peace concept of worldview in relation to the pacifist beliefs and practices of the Doukhobors in British Columbia. After completing her degrees in Home Economics and Education at the University of British Columbia, she taught at a secondary-school level locally for one year before moving to Bangkok Thailand, where she taught Kindergarten and Grade One classes in a Reggio-Emilia–oriented international school for four years. Stacey completed an EFP-Internship in Bosnia and Herzegovina prior to joining EFP-International in her current capacity in 2004.
